Porterbrook Leasing will be exhibiting at InnoTrans - Europe's premier
rail showcase - in Berlin, Germany September 24 - 27.
Porterbrook has already captured 40% of the European rail leasing market
and is looking to grow its market share as Europe's railways, under the
direction of the European Union, further liberalise their markets.
Mick Card, Porterbrook's International Business Director, said
"Porterbrook has already signed significant leasing deals with European Passenger and Open Access Freight Operators. Building on the expertise and experience we have gained during 8 years of providing finance solutions to the UK rail industry we believe that Porterbrook is well placed to meet the financing needs of the liberalised European railway markets."
"We invite anyone looking for innovative rail finance solutions to discuss their requirements with us at the Porterbrook stand at InnoTrans."
Porterbrook is currently commissioning 67 double-deck passenger vehicles for lease to the Danish State Railways. It has also signed a lease agreement with open access operator ShortLines BV for two Series 66 locomotives for service between Rotterdam and various locations in the Netherlands and Germany. The locomotives were delivered in January of this year. Porterbrook has also leased further Series 66 locos to operators HGK and Rail4Chem in Germany and D&L Cargo in Belgium
Electric traction was added to Porterbrook's European portfolio following a deal with HGK for five Class 145 locomotives signed in August 2001. This was followed in November by a lease with Connex Cargo Logistics GMbH for three new dual voltage Class 185 electrics which entered service in February this year hauling sand trains in the Osnabruck area for the Connex subsidiary NordWestCargo. Dual voltage capability will allow the locomotives to operate over several national networks.
Porterbrook can be found at stand 12 in hall 4.2a. Alternatively to arrange an appointment please call +44 207 612 3212.
