Porterbrook Leasing Company Limited ("Porterbrook"), a subsidiary of Abbey National plc ("Abbey"), has completed the fitting of On Train Data Recorders (OTMR) to its operational fleet.

The contract, agreed in 2003, was for Arrowvale to supply over 1000 OTMR units, and Porterbrook to have its vehicles fitted by December 2005. This final fitting has been achieved on all operational vehicles within the programme schedule and sees Porterbrook's fleet become fully compliant with Railway Group Standard GM/RT2472 "Data Recorders on Trains - Design Requirements".

Alex White, Operations Director for Porterbrook Leasing said "Porterbrook is extremely pleased to have achieved the fitting of OTMR across its operational fleet within the agreed timescales. These data recorders will now assist in providing valuable train data that will play an important part in managing and improving safety and reliability in the rail industry.
