The Fleet Support Engineer EMU is accountable for the management of Porterbrook EMU Assets when they are on lease to the Train Operating Companies (TOCs). Working with all stakeholders the role will manage asset condition to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Porterbrook assets. The role will also provide support to deliver Porterbrook’s lease obligations for the relevant assets, heavy maintenance, modification programmes. The role will also develop solutions to any issues affecting the asset, provide platform support and develop reliability growth programmes. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in project management in relation to the assets.
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer, or someone working towards this level, with 5 to 10 years of EMU Rolling Stock experience, along with good asset management skills. The ideal candidate will have good commercial skills, budget management, excellent communication skills and have a good understanding of fleet leasing arrangements. Strong attention to detail is also critical along with problem solving skills. You should ideally have a project management qualification or good evidence of managing engineering projects.
