Porterbrook Leasing Company specialises in the leasing and asset management of passenger and freight railway rolling stock and associated equipment. The role of Programme Manager will lead on the delivery of our FLEX family of pioneering projects to upgrade existing trains with alternative low emission traction technologies designed to reduce carbon, nitrogen oxides and particle emissions. This is a high-profile programme of work which will be game changing for the rail industry in the UK. Our main products are the ElectroFLEX, HydroFLEX, BatteryFLEX and HybridFLEX and we have a firm order book from the train operating companies and freight providers.
Our ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer or working towards this standard with a proven track record in complex programme management within a fleet engineering environment. You will have led multiple projects from concept through to delivery and the associated reporting and benefits tracking. Ideally with a qualification in project/programme management, you will have a strong balance of engineering, commercial and contract management skills to ensure that the projects deliver on time, to budget and which realise the financial benefits for both the business and our customers. Experience of managing the supply chain and working in senior multi-stakeholder environments is also critically important. Above all you must be highly resilient, able to lead and motivate teams in dynamic and fast paced environments and have exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
