Health & Wellbeing

Porterbrook is committed to supporting the health & wellbeing of our employees and the wider rail industry. Through involvement in an increasing number of initiatives we are demonstrating our commitment in this area

Support for terminally ill employees

Porterbrook supports the Dying To Work campaign and signed the charter at the Rail Forum Parliamentary reception on 29th April 2019.

The charter sets out an agreed way in which our employees will be supported, protected and guided throughout their employment, following a terminal diagnosis.

Porterbrook is part of a new Mental Wealth initiative - a scheme supporting businesses that want to invest in their staff wellbeing

Porterbrook supports Derby's inaugural Mental Wealth Event

Porterbrook is supporting Derby’s first Mental Wealth initiative which was kicked off by Rail Forum Midlands in January 2019. The founder, Wendy McCristal, Head of Consultancy at Tracsis, founded the Mental Wealth initiative after experiencing first-hand the effect that poor mental health can have on wellbeing and productivity. She is keen to share her experiences to help individuals and businesses to negotiate and adapt to this new growing challenge. The Mental Wealth workshops show how small steps, for instance by using “Tea & Talk” and “Overwhelm First Aid” can positively impact productivity and wellbeing of staff.
