We were proud to host over 6,000 visitors at the Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre for Rail Live in 2023, a 15% increase from last year, as well as 273 exhibitors, up from 225 in 2022.
Organised by Bauer Media, the two-day event is the largest outdoor rail exhibition representing all aspects of the industry and was attended by key industry figures including Lord Hendy, the Chair of Network Rail and the National Railway Museum Advisory Board, as well as Rail Minister Huw Merriman.
In a history-making event, visitors travelled in and out from Honeybourne on the new-look HydroFLEX – the UK’s first passenger-ready hydrogen train.
Coinciding with the second anniversary of Porterbrook taking over the 135-acre site, our marquee was revamped to showcase the site’s rich history, with the support of the Royal Engineers, and the upgrades that have been completed in the last two years.
We were also delighted to share our space and collaborate with the National Railway Museum who showcased some interactive prototypes from their Wonderlab Gallery. They also brought with them the hydrogen fuel cell from the first HydroFLEX prototype that is currently part of their Innovation Platform exhibition.
