On Wednesday 31st August, Porterbrook hosted a STEM graduate celebration day at Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre.
Around 60 developing graduate engineers from Network Rail, SNC Lavalin, Aegis, TUV RiskTec, Ricardo, ESR, East Midlands Railway and RDG attended. The groups were given a tour of the site and its facilities as well as a look around the UK’s first hydrogen powered passenger train, HydroFLEX.
Ben Ackroyd, Chief Operating Officer at Porterbrook said: “It was a pleasure for Porterbrook to welcome the future bright minds of our railways to Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre to celebrate their graduation.
“We hope that the opportunity to see exciting innovations like our HydroFLEX hydrogen-powered passenger train up close will help to inspire this new generation of engineers.”
