Porterbrook Supplier Day 2024 at Long Marston
Close partnerships and collaboration throughout the supply chain is key to the future of Porterbrook and the wider rail industry.
On Tuesday 16th July, Porterbrook welcomed representatives from across 50 of its suppliers to the Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre to discuss how to enhance and sustain the railway together.
The first half of the day involved discussions from the Porterbrook team about the outlook for the years ahead in terms of its passenger and freight strategies, as well as an insight into wider rolling stock strategy and planning from Jag Maitala at the Department of Transport.
During the afternoon session, Iain Rae from Brodie Engineering introduced their business and detailed the future of its partnership with Porterbrook. Russell Fletcher from Arriva Train Care also spoke from the supplier’s perspective about the key to successful collaboration.
Attendees also heard about Porterbrook’s digital offerings, before a discussion around enhancing and sustaining the railway.
After lunch, many of the attendees took the opportunity to go for a guided tour of Long Marston to see first-hand the recent upgrades and significant investment that has gone into the site.
Thank you to all who were able to join us on the day.
