Railway 200 celebrations at Severn Valley Railway

On Saturday 5th July and Sunday 6th July, Porterbrook were proud to be part of the landmark Railway 200 event at Severn Valley Railway in Kidderminster.

The event, Trains Through the Ages, marked the first stop for the Railway 200 exhibition train which is on a year-long tour as part of rail’s bicentenary.

Porterbrook has funded the installation of the unique livery of this one-of-a-kind train called Inspiration, which celebrates the past, the present, and working together to inspire an exciting and successful future for the railway.

To further celebrate the exciting innovations shaping the industry’s future, visitors were able to get an exclusive tour of Porterbrook’s HydroFLEX – the UK’s first heavy rail hydrogen train. As well as hearing from the team who developed the train, attendees were able to participate in The Hydrogen Challenge.

Porterbrook also showcased an interactive demonstrator to bring remote condition monitoring to life, illustrating the significant safety and reliability benefits it is bringing to the railway.

The next stop for Porterbrook in the Railway 200 celebrations will be The Greatest Gathering in Derby on 1st – 3rd August.
