Ben Ackroyd speaks at Public Transport Scotland

On Tuesday 20th February, Porterbrook COO Ben Ackroyd joined a panel at Modern Railways’ Public Transport Scotland Conference, where industry professionals gathered to discuss the innovations and plans shaping the country’s railway. Porterbrook was a proud sponsor of the conference which was held in Edinburgh.

Speaking alongside Ben was Cat Appleby, Membership and Engagement Director at Rail Forum, Alex Hynes, Managing Director at Scotland’s Railway and Bill Reeve, Director of Rail at Transport Scotland. During the discussion, Ben spoke about collective capability and Porterbrook’s role in supporting the challenges and opportunities faced by Team Scotland. The group also discussed the importance of creating a sustainable supply chain, and strengthening decarbonisation efforts across Scotland’s railway.

Highlighting Porterbrook’s commitment to supporting customers’ fleets in Scotland and the UK, Ben also announced the recent deal to take a 49% stake in Kilmarnock-based Brodie Engineering.
