CEO Mary Grant joins Rail Minister at UK Rail Summit
Porterbrook CEO Mary Grant was pleased to join the Rail Minister Lord Peter Hendy of Richmond Hill on stage at the UK Rail Summit in London today.
With the recent publication of the Government’s consultation on the establishment of Great British Railways, the event was an excellent opportunity to discuss how the industry can work together to deliver for passengers, and how to best harness private sector investment.
Mary was also joined on stage by Vernon Everitt, Transport Commissioner for Greater Manchester, Stewart Fox-Mills, Director of Fares and Ticketing at the Great British Railways Transition Team, and Stuart Jones, Commercial Director at Hull Trains and Lumo.
During the session, Mary explained that setting a long-term plan is essential for the industry to realise the true value of investments in the future, while welcoming the Rail Minister’s declaration that rolling stock companies would continue to be the stand-out private sector contributors to the railway.
