Porterbrook Highly Commended at Rail Freight Group Awards

Teams from Porterbrook, Greenbrier and GB Railfreight received a Highly Commended award in the Driving Rail Freight Growth category at last night’s Rail Freight Group Awards Awards alongside Greenbrier and GB Railfreight.

This award was for the successful delivery of 100 FEA-G intermodal wagons and 50 JNA-X box wagons to the UK, increasing rail freight capacity and encouraging a modal shift from road to rail.

The successful on time delivery is a significant achievement for the teams as the project was impacted by the pandemic, a supply chain disruption, and surge in inflation and energy price increases due to the war in Ukraine.

This project is also a finalist for the Freight and Logistics Achievement of the Year at the 2023 RAIL Magazine's National Rail Awards.
