Shadow Rail Minister Tan Dhesi MP visits Long Marston
Porterbrook was pleased to welcome Shadow Rail Minister and Labour MP for Slough Tan Dhesi to our Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre.
The MP was able to see the modernised and enhanced facilities across the site following over £3 million of investment from Porterbrook since we took over nearly a year ago. A third of this spending has been with local businesses in Warwickshire.
The site includes a circular test track loop, high quality office and conference spaces, rolling stock storage and a training centre.
Mr Dhesi also had a tour of our ground-breaking HydroFLEX, the world’s first tri-mode battery, electric and hydrogen train, which was extensively tested at Long Marston before being presented at the COP26 environment summit in Glasgow.
An excellent discussion took place about our future plans for Long Marston and how this can support the UK rail industry and the wider supply chain.
